How Can we Fix the Health Care System? PDF Print E-mail

Everyone agrees that our health care system is in need of a tuneup at the bare minimum. The problem that I see is that some would like to change all parts of the system to fix a few problems. To change the entire system that a large majority of our citizens want to keep is somewhat foolish if we can fix parts of the system without the turmoil.

The changes that could be made easily includes the following:

  1. Abolish prior existing conditions disqualifications in the insurance plan. If someone has to change jobs and insurance companies they should be able to keep insured as before.
  2. Tort reform. While not perfect limiting frivilous law suits, have the loser pay for court costs or have a panal of disinterested parties mediate the case before trial could result in the savings of billions of dollars in defensive medical practices.
  3. Let people shop nationwide for health insurance. We do for car insurance and that seems to work.
  4. Really go after fraud, waste and abuse in the Medicare and Medicade system. If there is truly billions to be saved here why aren't we doing it right now?

Start with these four easy to implement plans and see how much it does to assist in people having the ability to have medical insurance. And by the way, don't tell me that illegals will not get medical care under the Dems plan. Of course they will. It will be seen to by the Supreme Court as they have done for education and emergency room visits for illegals. For Obama to say otherwise is naive at best and a lie at worst.

Freedom is under attack! It's obvious that Obama wants control over our existence. There is too much lying going on, and this only causes me to disbelieve anything the Obama administration or Congress says. Yes we can outline the problems that need to be worked on, but our elected officials in control of the House and Senate are not listening, and seem to be preoccupied with creating a socialization of our nation. Some states plan to challenge the health care bill, and god help us if the US Supreme Court deems it Constitutional for the federal government to succeed.
